America’s Promise is making youth a national priority by mobilizing people from every sector of American life to build the character and competence of our nation’s youth. America’s Promise is a collaborative network that builds upon the collective power of communities and partners to help fulfill the Five Promises for every young person in America.

Lakewood’s Promise and the Human Services Collaboration are mobilizing the Lakewood community to build the character and competence of Lakewood’s youth by fulfilling 5 promises:
1.Ongoing relationships with caring adults
2.Safe places with structured activities during non-school hours
3.Healthy start and future
4.Marketable skills through effective education
5.Opportunities to give back through community services
The City of Lakewood is an official partner with America’s Promise. Collaboration partners include over 125 local entities such as schools, the faith community, businesses, the military, service clubs, non-profits and individual volunteers.
